 A sea themed fantasy baroque octave mandolin, 460 mm scale length.

A highly stylized and unique baroque octave mandolin with five courses of gut strings. The courses are wide enough to facilitate fingerpicking if desired (in addition to plectrum playing).

Constructed with German Spruce, Pear, Ebony and Olive woods with painted bowl, neck and fingerboard/bridge details and a varnish finish. The two intertwined fish at the tip of the peg box are carved in lemonwood and gilded.

The unusual suspended sound hole decoration has been carved in pearwood and painted along with a glass pearl. Nylgut strings and tied frets. 

Light oil varnish finish to the soundboard.


460 mm scale length with six courses tuned to BB ee aa dd gg at standard concert pitch.
